Molo

2019, Fall River, USAInstallation

Molo is a temporary installation created for the Fabric Art Festival and built on the water in the city of Fall River. The work is composed of agricultural netting, steel cables, and wood. A place to discover while playing in the city’s old port, dedicated to the “farmers of the sea” and inspired by temporary, primitive, nomadic architecture. Agricultural netting, the work’s primary material, is typically used in farm fields to protect crops from the elements; in this case, however, it serves as a vertical architectural surface through which to engage with the surrounding environment.
